The School House System
We operate a House System whereby each child is randomly allocated to one of four Houses when they start at Clipston School.
The Houses are:
Buswell House (Blue)
Coles House (Green)
Isham House (Yellow)
Halestrap House (Red)
Children are awarded House Points for good effort, a super piece of work, exemplary behaviour, perseverance or for going above and beyond and thus making a significant contribution to school life. House points are collected centrally in the library. At the end of each half-term, the house points are counted and the winning House is awarded the House Cup, which is presented the Year 6 House Captains during the Awards Assembly. The names of the houses are from historical figures who have been significant in the life of the school. Sir George Buswell left the original monies to fund the building in the 17th Century. Mr Isham and Mr Coles were local architects and builders involved in modernisation works to the buildings. Mr Halestrap was the first headmaster appointed to preside over the school when the girls’ and boys’ schools amalgamated in 1928.
